Australian Metalcore Band Mirrors Releases New Single "Vestige"

Australian metalcore band Mirrors has released their new single "Vestige" on November 29, 2024. The track marks the band's return after a three-year hiatus and serves as a teaser for their planned sophomore album.

"Vestige" was produced by Ionei Heckenberg of Ocean Sleeper, with mixing and mastering handled by Lance Prenc, known for his work with Polaris and Alpha Wolf. The song features Mirrors' lineup of Patty Goodman on vocals, Tyson Taifer on guitar, Jack Mackin on bass, and Rob Brens on drums.

The track explores themes of self-discovery and resilience, taking listeners on a journey through darkness and into light. It delves into the process of being pulled into the depths of one's struggles, only to emerge stronger, conveying a sense of gratitude for that struggle.

Early reviews have praised "Vestige" for its powerful composition, featuring crushing riffs, dreamy melodies, and raw lyrical depth. Critics have noted the song's progression and the band's ability to create an enigmatic journey that balances enthralling heaviness with melodic beauty.

Mirrors will debut "Vestige" live at Ocean Sleeper's holiday throwdown Christmas Show in Traralgon on December 13, 2024. Tickets for this performance are currently on sale.

Formed in Gippsland in late 2016, the band has previously released EPs such as "Fool's Paradise" and "Cold Sanctuary," with their debut album "The Ego's Weight" receiving positive reception and earning them nominations and festival appearances.
