Avatarium Ignites 2025 with "My Hair Is on Fire (But I'll Take Your Hand)" as Album Release Approaches
Swedish doom and hard rock maestros Avatarium have set the metal world ablaze with their latest single "My Hair Is on Fire (But I'll Take Your Hand)," released on January 10, 2025. As we enter the second weekend of the new year, this powerful track continues to gain traction, serving as the third glimpse into their highly anticipated sixth studio album, "Between You, God, the Devil and the Dead," set to drop on January 24, 2025, via AFM Records.
"My Hair Is on Fire (But I'll Take Your Hand)" showcases Avatarium's evolution, blending their signature doom-laden sound with a touch of '60s pop flavor. Guitarist Marcus Jidell describes it as "a classic Dio/Sabbath uptempo rocker," adding, "Sometimes we need a little poison to stay awake, or a spoonful of darkness to see the light". This unique fusion exemplifies the band's ability to push boundaries while maintaining their core sound.
The single, composed and written by vocalist Jennie-Ann Smith and Marcus Jidell, was produced and mixed by Jidell himself, with mastering handled by the renowned Svante Forsbäck (Candlemass, Amorphis). This collaboration has resulted in a track that perfectly encapsulates Avatarium's artistic vision.
"Between You, God, the Devil and the Dead" promises to be a landmark release for Avatarium. The album, featuring eight enthralling tracks, will be available in various formats, including limited edition vinyl, a 2-CD Earbook, and standard CD. The Earbook edition includes a bonus disc with album commentary and six unreleased live tracks, offering fans an immersive experience into Avatarium's world.
