Better Lovers Unveil 'Love As An Act Of Rebellion' as Final Preview of Debut Album 'Highly Irresponsible'

Better Lovers have released "Love As An Act Of Rebellion" on October 22, 2024, as the final preview of their debut album "Highly Irresponsible," set to drop on October 25, 2024. The track showcases the band's dynamic range, starting with frenetic metalcore elements before transitioning to a state of "uneasy acceptance."

Frontman Greg Puciato describes the song as one of his personal top three or four on the album, emphasizing its significance within their discography. "It's a full course meal in one song," Puciato stated, adding that he immediately knew it would be the final track on the album upon hearing the instrumental.

The song's themes revolve around love, rebellion, and the struggle against hate and division. Its emotional diversity is reflected in its musical structure, which incorporates fast thrash and breakdowns before evolving into a different sonic landscape.

The accompanying music video was directed and edited by Anthony Altamura, with Max Seiler serving as 1st Assistant Director. Mad Max VFX provided visual effects, while Lauren Molina handled makeup. The production was overseen by Chromascope.

Better Lovers will support their debut album with a Fall North American tour, kicking off on November 3, 2024, in Asheville, North Carolina at The Orange Peel. The tour is scheduled to run through mid-December, with tickets available through the band's website.

The group consists of Greg Puciato (formerly of The Dillinger Escape Plan), Jordan Buckley, Clayton "Goose" Holyoak, and Stephen Micciche (all ex-members of Every Time I Die), along with Will Putney from Fit for an Autopsy. This lineup contributes to the unique sound evident in "Love As An Act Of Rebellion."

Guitarist Jordan Buckley likened the track to a precursor of the main course, hinting at the album's overall intensity. The song has been described as "unhinged" and emotionally varied, with both Puciato and Buckley expressing enthusiasm for its creation and place within the album.
