Coheed and Cambria Unveil New Single "Blind Side Sonny," Introducing Fresh Chapter in Amory Wars Saga
Coheed and Cambria have released their new single "Blind Side Sonny" on October 2, 2024. The track serves as the first glimpse into the band's upcoming full-length album, following their 2022 release "Vaxis Act II: A Window Of The Waking Mind".
Frontman Claudio Sanchez describes the song's theme, stating, "It's a song about revenge. What may seem like an innocent choice to someone could be the breeding ground of another's malicious misunderstanding. Perception can be your worst enemy." The track introduces a new character, Sonny, into the band's established Amory Wars / Vaxis universe, further expanding their intricate storytelling approach.
Accompanying the song is a music video directed by Max Moore, although specific details about producers or mixers for the track are not available.
Coheed and Cambria are scheduled to perform at the When We Were Young Festival later this month, where they will celebrate their 2005 album "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV". Additionally, the band has announced a tour in June, during which they will perform their album "No World For Tomorrow" in its entirety.
The release of "Blind Side Sonny" continues Coheed and Cambria's tradition of weaving complex narratives throughout their discography, with each new track and album adding layers to their established fictional universes.
