Crawling Chaos Unveils "Nails of Fate" Single Ahead of Upcoming Album "Wyrd"

Italian melodic death metal band Crawling Chaos has unveiled "Nails of Fate," the first single from their highly anticipated third studio album, "Wyrd," set to release on March 28, 2025, via Time To Kill Records. The track, accompanied by an official music video, serves as a powerful introduction to the album's thematic exploration of fate, destiny, and mythological figures.

"Nails of Fate" draws inspiration from Norse mythology, specifically focusing on the Norns, with lyrics adapted from the renowned Sigrdrífumál. The song's concept revolves around a runic spread featuring the winter triad—Hagalaz, Nauthiz, and Isa—associated with the Norns Urd, Skuld, and Verdandi. These mythological figures are portrayed as not only weaving the threads of fate but also carving runes to chronicle the universe, with the runes said to be engraved on their nails as a symbol of their power over destiny.

"Wyrd," the upcoming album, consists of ten tracks that weave together a narrative exploring various feminine figures from classical mythology, European folklore, and history. The album's concept delves into the relationship between femininity and destiny through an anthological and mythological approach. Some of the other tracks on the album include "Three Times Three," "Veiled in Secrets," "Torches Ablaze," and "Witch-Hunt".

Crawling Chaos, formed in Rimini, Italy, has been active in the metal scene since 2003. The current lineup features Manuel Guerrieri on guitars and vocals, Andrea Velli on guitars and backing vocals, William Leardini on fretless bass, and Edoardo Velli on drums.

"Wyrd" follows their 2020 release "XLIX," a concept album inspired by Machiavelli's "The Prince".
