Distant's "Acolytes of Damnation" Unleashes Deathcore Fury with Alex Erian
Dutch-Slovakian deathcore band Distant has released their powerful single "Acolytes of Damnation," featuring guest vocals from Despised Icon's Alex Erian. The track serves as a cornerstone of their newly released album "Tsukuyomi: The Origin," which dropped on November 22, 2024, via Century Media Records.
"Acolytes of Damnation" showcases Distant's evolution, blending their raw origins with their current, refined sonic assault. The song's lyrics deliver imagery soaked in violence and despair, reveling in destruction and dedicated to extinction. Distant's crushing breakdowns and atmospheric soundscapes blend seamlessly with Erian's vocal contribution, creating a relentless assault on the senses.
The single is accompanied by a visually striking music video directed by Pavel Trebukhin, known for his work on "The Undying." The video features intense imagery, pyrotechnics, and a dystopian set that complements the track's brutal energy.
"Tsukuyomi: The Origin" is an expanded and reimagined version of Distant's debut EP, featuring seven brand new tracks alongside six revamped versions of original songs. The album includes collaborations with other notable artists such as Matthew K. Heafy of Trivium, David Simonich of Signs of the Swarm, and Travis Worland of Enterprise Earth.
As Distant celebrates their 10-year anniversary, "Acolytes of Damnation" and the full album "Tsukuyomi: The Origin" stand as a powerful testament to their growth and artistic vision over the past decade. The release solidifies Distant's position as one of the prominent faces of European Deathcore, promising fans both new and old an unrelenting and immersive musical experience.
