Edge of Paradise Unleashes "Death Note": A Cinematic Metal Odyssey Heralds "Prophecy" and Spring 2025 Tour
Los Angeles-based cinematic metal force Edge of Paradise has set the music world ablaze with their latest single "Death Note," released on January 9, 2025. This powerful track serves as the second glimpse into their highly anticipated sixth studio album, "Prophecy," set to drop on March 7, 2025, via Napalm Records.
"Death Note" showcases Edge of Paradise's evolution, featuring the band's first use of 8-string guitars and a blend of soaring melodies with aggressive soundscapes. Co-produced by Mike Plotnikoff (Nita Strauss, Apocalyptica) and mixed by Jacob Hansen (Amaranthe, Volbeat), the track pushes the boundaries of the band's already expansive sound.
Frontwoman Margarita Monet describes "Death Note" as "an intense battle for identity and connection, powered by soaring melodies and an aggressive sound". The song explores themes of technological confinement and the need for human reconnection, serving as a microcosm for the album's broader exploration of "The Singularity" - a hypothetical future point where artificial intelligence surpasses human control.
To support the release of "Prophecy," Edge of Paradise will embark on a North American tour supporting Delain, alongside fellow labelmates Xandria. The tour kicks off on March 7, 2025, in Phoenix, AZ, and concludes on March 29 in Austin, TX, covering major cities across the United States and Canada.
Edge of Paradise, formed in 2011, has steadily risen through the ranks of the metal scene with their unique blend of cinematic soundscapes and hard-hitting riffs. The current lineup features Margarita Monet (vocals, keys), Dave Bates (guitars), David Ruiz (guitars), Jamie Moreno (drums), and Kenny Lockwood (bass).
