Get The Shot Releases New Track "Pit of Misery"

Get The Shot, the Canadian hardcore band, has unleashed their devastating new single "Pit of Misery" on February 27, 2025. This standalone track represents the band's most aggressive sonic assault to date, showcasing their evolution since their formation in 2009. The song is accompanied by a visceral music video that captures its raw intensity, featuring vocalist Jean-Philippe Lagacé's powerful delivery.

"Pit of Misery" follows the success of their previous release, "Dominant Predation," which featured a collaboration with Paleface Swiss's vocalist Zelli. This new single continues Get The Shot's tradition of delivering unrelenting hardcore music, incorporating elements of thrash metal and beatdown hardcore that have become hallmarks of their sound.

Get The Shot's musical journey began with their self-produced EP "In Fear We Stand" in 2009, followed by their debut album "Perdition" in 2012. Over the years, they've released several albums, including "No Peace in Hell" (2014), "Infinite Punishment" (2017), and their JUNO-nominated "Merciless Destruction" (2022). Their sound has evolved to include influences from iconic bands like Hatebreed, Obituary, Slayer, and Machine Head.

The band's lineup currently consists of Jean-Philippe Lagacé on vocals, Tom Chiasson and Olivier Roy on guitars, Dan Fischer Roberge on bass, and Sébastien Lalonde-Ricordi on drums. Their music is characterized by a potent combination of aggression and principled themes, addressing issues of social injustice and political unrest.

In support of "Pit of Misery," Get The Shot will embark on a European tour in March 2025, bringing their intense live performance to audiences across the continent. The band has built a reputation for explosive live shows, having played over 500 concerts across three continents, including appearances at major festivals like Wacken, Hellfest, and Summerbreeze.

Get The Shot's commitment to authenticity and DIY ethics remains strong, as evidenced by their recent signing with German record label Arising Empire in 2024. This new chapter in their career promises to further cement their standing in the international hardcore scene while staying true to their roots.
