Ghost Unleashes "Satanized," First Single from New Album "Skeletá"
Ghost has released a new single titled "Satanized" on March 5, 2025, marking the beginning of a new era for the group. The song serves as the lead single from their upcoming sixth studio album, "Skeletá," which is set to be released on April 25, 2025, via Loma Vista Recordings. The track introduces Papa V Perpetua, the latest in a lineage of enigmatic frontmen crafted by leadman Tobias Forge.
Alongside the single, Ghost unveiled an interactive "Satanizer" experience, enabling fans to insert themselves into the song’s exorcism-themed narrative. This release coincides with the announcement of their 2025 "Skeletour World Tour", which includes a historic headlining performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden, and the March 2025 launch of a Dark Horse Comics series exploring the lore of Sister Imperato.
"Satanized" exemplifies Ghost’s continued evolution, merging infectious hooks with lyrical themes of internal conflict and spiritual surrender. The track opens with the haunting admission, “There is something inside me and they don’t know if there is a cure,” setting the stage for a narrative of possession that blurs the line between victim and perpetrator. Musically, the song blends a hypnotic beat with blistering guitar solos and harmonies reminiscent of 1980s arena rock.
The upcoming album "Skeletá" represents Ghost’s most introspective work to date, departing from the outward-facing themes of 2018’s plague-inspired "Prequelle" and 2022’s empire-centric "Impera". The 10-track release constructs a thematic arc beginning with the anthemic "Peacefield" and descending into darker emotional territories, such as the bittersweet "Lachryma" and the soul-searching ballad "Guiding Lights".
Ghost's discography spans over a decade, with their debut album "Opus Eponymous" released in 2010. Since then, they have consistently evolved their sound and image, gaining international recognition and chart success. Their previous album, "Impera," released in 2022, reached number one in several countries, including Sweden, Finland, and Germany. The band's unique approach to music and image has earned them a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2016 for the song "Cirice".
With "Skeletá" and its accompanying tour, Ghost reaffirms their status as one of metal’s most innovative storytellers. By intertwining personal vulnerability with grandiose theatrics, Tobias Forge has crafted an album that resonates as both a spiritual confessional and a rallying cry for the masses. As they prepare to baptize new arenas while expanding their mythos through comics, Ghost continues to redefine what it means to be a modern metal act—one incantation at a time.
"SATANIZED" LYRICS
There is something inside me
And they don't know if there is a cure
A demonic possession
Unlike any before
It's a sickening heartache
And it's slowly tormenting my soul
I've invested my prayers
Into making me whole
I should have known
Not to give in
I should have known
Not to give in
Blasphemy, heresy
Save me from the monster that is eating me
I'm victimized
Blasphemy, heresy
Save me, from the bottom of my heart I know
I'm satanized
I'm satanized
I'm satanized
*An nescitis quoniam membra vestra
Templum est Spiritus Sancti
Qui in vobis est
Quem habetis a Deo?
Et non estis vestri
Through a life of devotion
I've been quelling my urges to burst
I've been fighting the notion
To, by love, be coerced
I should have known
Not to give in
I should have known
Not to give in
Blasphemy, heresy
Save me from the monster that is eating me
I'm paralyzed
Blasphemy, heresy
Save me, from the bottom of my heart I know
I'm satanized
I'm satanized
I'm Satanized
Like a deadly affliction
That is twisting and bending my core
I have begged God for the remedy
But I'm no longer sure
I should have known
Not to give in
I should have known
Not to give in
Blasphemy, heresy
Save me from the monster that is eating me
I'm laicized
Blasphemy, heresy
Save me, from the bottom of my heart I know
I'm satanized
From the bottom of my heart I know
I'm satanized
From the bottom of my heart I know
I'm satanized
I'm satanized
I'm satanized
