Gridiron Unveils New Single "Talk Real" to Mark Debut with Blue Grape Music

Gridiron, the hardcore band known for their aggressive sound and rap-inflected style, has dropped their latest single "Talk Real" on November 21, 2024. This release marks a significant milestone for the band as it serves as their debut under the Blue Grape Music label, signaling an exciting new chapter in their career.

"Talk Real" showcases Gridiron's signature blend of hardcore punk and rap elements, featuring thunderous riffs and intense vocal delivery. The track's lyrics, delivered by frontman Mathew Karll, focus on themes of loyalty, readiness, and standing united. As Karll explains, "For me, this song is about being ready when your number is called. Standing by your brothers and having a 'we, not me' mentality"12.

The single is accompanied by a football-centric music video directed by Daniel Centrone, which intercuts footage of the band performing with scenes of football preparation, emphasizing the song's themes of teamwork and rising to the occasion.

Gridiron, formed as a pandemic project, has evolved into a full-fledged band featuring members from various hardcore acts including Never Ending Game, Simulakra, and Scarab. The group connects musicians from Philadelphia, Delaware, and Michigan, creating a unique blend of regional influences in their music.

Fans can look forward to more music from Gridiron in 2025, with the band expected to follow up their 2022 album "No Good At Goodbyes" with a new release in the spring, accompanied by extensive touring.
