Grima Unveils "Skull Gatherers" from Upcoming Album "Nightside"
Siberian atmospheric black metal band Grima has released their new single "Skull Gatherers" on November 20, 2024, as the first taste of their upcoming album "Nightside," set to release on February 28, 2025, via Napalm Records.
"Skull Gatherers" is described as "an atmospheric and haunting black metal track that conjures powerful imagery of inevitability, cold, and eternal slumber"1. The song features folk instruments such as the Russian accordion bayan, blending traditional elements with Grima's signature black metal sound4
The band explains the track's concept: "'Skull Gatherers' tells the story of the Skull Gatherers, particularly devoted servants of Grima, who are dedicated to harvesting trophies from the bodies of the deceased and weaving them into an endless collection"4.
Accompanying the single is an official music video directed by Marat Zaborovskiy, which visually complements the song's themes.
To support the release, Grima has announced a European tour for 2025, including dates across Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, and the UK. Fans can expect to hear "Skull Gatherers" and other new material performed live during these shows.
