Hämatom Honors Late Bassist with Latest Track "Lachend in den Untergang"
German metal powerhouse Hämatom is set to release their emotionally charged track "Lachend in den Untergang" (Laughing into Doom) on January 24, 2025, as part of their highly anticipated album "Für Dich" (For You). The song features a collaboration with The Dark Tenor, adding a unique and somber dimension to the band's signature sound.
"Lachend in den Untergang" is a key component of "Für Dich," an album dedicated entirely to Hämatom's late bassist, Peter Haag, known as "West," who tragically passed away in August 2023. The album serves as an emotional testament to their fallen bandmate and friend, with whom they founded Hämatom 20 years ago in an old haunted villa in Franconian Switzerland.
This release marks a significant milestone for Hämatom, coinciding with their 20th anniversary. Known for their work in Groove Metal and Thrash Metal, the band has chosen to continue as a group following the loss of their bassist. In a notable change to their lineup, they have added a second guitarist, Rose (Annika Jaschke), rather than replacing Haag directly.
"Für Dich," including "Lachend in den Untergang," will be available in various formats, including a limited edition Memorandum Box set featuring exclusive content such as unreleased demos, a documentary, and personal memorabilia from the band's history15. The album's release was slightly delayed from its original date to ensure the highest quality production, demonstrating the band's commitment to honoring West's memory.
