Harakiri for the Sky Unveils "Keep Me Longing": A Powerful Prelude to "Scorched Earth"
Austrian post-black metal powerhouse Harakiri for the Sky has set the metal world ablaze with their latest single "Keep Me Longing," released on January 9, 2025. This track serves as the fourth glimpse into their highly anticipated album "Scorched Earth," set to drop on January 24, 2025, via AOP Records.
"Keep Me Longing" showcases Harakiri for the Sky's evolution, blending their signature post-black metal energy with elements reminiscent of grunge and indie rock eras. The song, spanning just over 10 minutes, features sweeping movements and blast-beat laden passages, exemplifying the band's penchant for expansive, emotionally charged compositions.
Accompanied by a visually striking music video directed by Tim Hanke-Zilles, "Keep Me Longing" explores themes of loss and despair through contrasting narratives. The band explains, "We wanted to write a storyline that plays with two heavy contrasts: Two protagonists, which handle the feeling of loss and despair in two completely oppositional ways."
"Scorched Earth," described by the band as "a snapshot of the world we are living in, a world that's tragically broken," promises to be a landmark release for Harakiri for the Sky. The album, featuring seven new tracks and bonus content, will be available in various formats, including limited edition vinyl and a 2-CD Earbook.
To support the release of "Scorched Earth," Harakiri for the Sky has announced an extensive European and North American tour, kicking off on January 24, 2025, in Hamburg, Germany.
