Jerry Cantrell Announces New Solo Album "I Want Blood" and Tour Dates for 2024 Release

Jerry Cantrell, renowned guitarist and vocalist of Alice in Chains, is set to release his new solo album "I Want Blood" on October 18, 2024. The title track, described as upbeat and no-nonsense, has already garnered praise from critics, with MetalTalk.net calling it "bloody brilliant."

Co-produced by Cantrell and Joe Barresi, known for his work with Tool, Melvins, and Queens of the Stone Age, the album was recorded at Barresi's JHOC Studio in Pasadena, California. "I Want Blood" features an impressive lineup of guest musicians, including Duff McKagan (Guns N' Roses) and Robert Trujillo (Metallica) on bass, Mike Bordin (Faith No More) and Gil Sharone on drums, with backing vocals by Greg Puciato (Better Lovers, ex-Dillinger Escape Plan) and Lola Colette.

Cantrell has expressed confidence in the album, stating it includes some of his best songwriting, playing, and singing to date. Early reviews highlight the album's cohesive flow and energy, with no filler tracks.

To support the release, Cantrell will embark on an extensive tour starting July 31 at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre in West Valley, UT. The tour will cover numerous cities across the United States and Canada, concluding on September 14 at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix, AZ. Gavin Rossdale and Bush are slated to join as supporting acts throughout the tour.

Notable stops on the tour include performances at Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre in Greenwood Village, CO (August 1), Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in Chicago, IL (August 7), Budweiser Stage in Toronto, ON (August 19), and Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City, NJ (August 23).
