Metalcore veterans Killswitch Engage have broken their five-year silence with the release of "Forever Aligned," the lead single from their upcoming ninth studio album, "This Consequence," on November 19, 2024. The highly anticipated record is set to drop on February 21, 2025, via Metal Blade Records.
"Forever Aligned" showcases Killswitch Engage's evolution, blending their signature heavy instrumentation with melodic elements. The track features a brutal thrash groove that eventually gives way to a melodic chorus, highlighting frontman Jesse Leach's versatile vocal range.
Leach elaborated on the song's theme, stating, "'Forever Aligned' is one of those songs that is not just about us as humans, our love, and connection, but that connection to the unknown, the greater power, the universe, or God. It feels like a really good first song to release not just sonically, but lyrically, as it is all about connection".
In support of "This Consequence," Killswitch Engage has announced an extensive North American tour for spring 2025. The tour kicks off on March 5 in Nashville, TN, and concludes on April 12 in Portland, ME.Notable tour dates include:
