King Diamond Unleashes New Single "Spider Lilly" from Upcoming Horror Trilogy
On December 17, 2024, legendary heavy metal icon King Diamond released "Spider Lilly," his first new single in five years. The track is the lead single from King Diamond's forthcoming horror trilogy, with part one titled "Saint Lucifer's Hospital 1920".
"Spider Lilly" showcases King Diamond's signature falsetto vocals and thrashy guitar riffs, with a complex arrangement that takes unexpected melodic turns. The song features backing vocals from Danish singer/songwriter Myrkur, who also joined King Diamond on his recent North American tour.
The single was mixed and mastered by Arthur Rizk, marking a first-time collaboration that has produced what King Diamond describes as "an incredibly powerful sound picture, as clear and dynamic as a full moon on a star-filled black night".
A music video for "Spider Lilly," directed by My Good Eye Visuals, was also released. Part of the video was filmed at the reportedly haunted Pennhurst Asylum near Philadelphia during the band's recent tour .
