Lost in Separation Releases Latest Single "Black Mirror"
Lost in Separation, the progressive metalcore band from Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, has released their latest single "Black Mirror" on February 7, 2025. This new track showcases the band's evolution since their debut album "Sister Moon," released in 2018. The new single maintains their signature blend of heavy riffs and emotional storytelling while pushing their sound in new directions.
The band, formed in 2016, consists of Garrett Parsa (vocals), Andrew Hickman (lead guitar), Josh Fernandez (drums), and Ryon Boswell (bass). Lost in Separation's musical style blends the aggression of modern metalcore with exploratory sonic elements, drawing influence from bands such as Architects, Northlane, Counterparts, and Erra.
"Black Mirror" follows the band's sophomore album "Sabertooth," which was released in February 2024. The album, containing eight tracks and featuring a guest appearance by Aaron Gillespie of Underoath on the track "Ice Age," was preceded by the band's "Dakhma" EP that dropped earlier in that month.
Lost in Separation's journey began with Andrew Hickman composing demo tracks in his bedroom in 2015, following the breakup of his previous band. The current lineup was solidified when Garrett Parsa joined as vocalist and brought in Ryon Boswell on bass. Since then, the band has been dedicated to crafting a sound that balances technical proficiency with emotional resonance.
As they continue to evolve, Lost in Separation remains committed to pushing the boundaries of the metalcore genre while maintaining a connection to their roots. With the release of "Sabertooth" and singles like "Black Mirror," the band is poised to make a significant impact on the metal music landscape in 2025 and beyond.
