Finnish alt-metal force LUNA KILLS has released "sugar rush" on December 4, 2024, as the second single from their highly anticipated debut album DEATHMATCH, scheduled for worldwide release on April 4, 2025, via SharpTone Records. This electrifying track balances ferocious riffs with haunting melodies, capturing the exhilarating highs and devastating lows of chasing fleeting thrills.

The creative process behind "sugar rush" served as a cathartic outlet for LUNA KILLS. The band reflects, "At the time, before we started writing 'sugar rush', we had been working on other songs for a long period of time and we felt really exhausted... 'sugar rush' became a powerful outlet for all that we were going through, a way to channel exhaustion and frustration with the pressures of perfectionism and constant productivity".

DEATHMATCH promises to be a powerful collision of vulnerability and aggression, capturing the chaos and conflict within the mind with unflinching honesty1. The album's tracklist includes ten songs, with "sugar rush" and the previously released "slay ur enemies" among them.

LUNA KILLS, formed in 2019, comprises Lotta Ruutiainen (vocals), Samuli Paasineva (guitar), and other members5.
