LUNA KILLS Unveils Dark New Single 'LEECH' Ahead of Upcoming Album 'DEATHMATCH' and 2025 Tour Dates

Finnish alt-metal sensation LUNA KILLS has released their latest track "LEECH," a powerful single from their highly anticipated debut album "DEATHMATCH," set to drop on April 4, 2025, via SharpTone Records. The song, one of the last written for the album, came together swiftly due to the band's unified creative vision, showcasing their evolving sound and lyrical depth.
"LEECH" delves into the raw struggle with depression and self-harm, exploring themes of denial and avoidance in confronting mental illness. Vocalist Lotta Ruutiainen elaborates on the song's meaning, stating it conveys "the painful understanding of staying in that place, where fear and self-hatred have entwined so tightly with one's identity that they seem impossible to separate".
The track showcases LUNA KILLS' signature style, featuring Ruutiainen's haunting, powerful vocals combined with heavy riffs, thunderous drums, and driving bass, amplifying the song's dark yet anthemic energy. This powerful blend demonstrates the band's ability to create emotionally charged and unrelenting music, further cementing their position as a rising force in the modern alt-metal landscape.
In support of "DEATHMATCH" and "LEECH," LUNA KILLS has announced an exciting lineup of tour dates and festival appearances. The band will kick off their live performances at ESNS in Groningen, Netherlands on January 16, 2025, followed by an appearance at 6 Feet Underground Festival in Espoo, Finland on February 14, 2025.
The official album release show is scheduled for April 5, 2025, at On The Rocks in Helsinki, Finland. Additional tour stops include Olympia in Tampere on April 11, House of Rock in Kouvola on April 12, Monttu in Pori on April 17, and Brummi in Rauma on April 18, 2025.
