MAVIS Unleashes New Single "DNA"
German metalcore band MAVIS released their powerful new single "DNA" on November 27, 2024, through Arising Empire Records, marking their latest venture into heavier sonic territories.
The band has faced significant challenges since their formation, including equipment loss in a studio fire in 2022 and multiple lineup changes. However, these obstacles have shaped their sound, which blends modern metalcore with diverse influences ranging from Polaris and Architects to pop and post-black metal.
"DNA" follows their debut album "Grief Is No Ally," released in late 2023. The album showcases their signature blend of heavy and emotive elements, with songs that explore darker emotions while maintaining threads of hope throughout.
MAVIS's songwriting process involves all band members, with both Phil Donay and Manu Weller contributing to the instrumental compositions. Their "anything goes" attitude allows them to craft a unique sound within the modern metalcore framework.
