Memphis May Fire Releases New Single "Overdose" Featuring Blindside's Christian Lindskog Ahead of "Shapeshifter" Album Release

Memphis May Fire, the American metalcore band, has released their latest single "Overdose" in January 2025, featuring guest vocals from Christian Lindskog of the Swedish rock band Blindside.

"Overdose" is part of the band's upcoming seventh studio album "Shapeshifter," which is scheduled for release on March 28, 2025, through Rise Records.

"Overdose" explores themes of addiction and the consequences of pushing boundaries too far. Matty Mullins explained the song's meaning, stating, "'Overdose' is about the intoxicating nature of extremes — how easy it is to get addicted to the highs of life, no matter the consequences. It's a song for anyone who's ever pushed boundaries too far, chased the rush, and grappled with the fallout".

The upcoming album "Shapeshifter" promises to be a diverse collection of tracks that showcase the band's evolution. The album's tracklist includes ten songs: "Chaotic," "Infection," "Overdose," "Paralyzed," "Hell Is Empty," "Necessary Evil," "The Other Side," "Shapeshifter," "Versus," and "Love Is War".

Mullins has described the album as a journey through layers of deception, self-reflection, and the struggle to find authenticity in a world full of pretense.

Memphis May Fire's musical background is rooted in the post-hardcore and metalcore genres. Their sound has evolved over the years, incorporating elements of heavy metal, punk rock, and even orchestral arrangements.

The band's previous album, "Unconditional," released in 2014, debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Alternative Albums chart, showcasing their growing popularity and musical prowess.

Throughout their career, Memphis May Fire has been known for their high-energy live performances and their commitment to connecting with fans on a personal level. The band has toured extensively, sharing stages with other prominent acts in the rock and metal scenes.
