Memphis May Fire Releases "The Other Side" Ahead of Upcoming Album "Shapeshifter"

Memphis May Fire, the Dallas-based metalcore band formed in 2006, has released a compelling new track, "The Other Side", from their anticipated eighth studio album "Shapeshifter". Unveiled on February 19, 2025, the single demonstrates the band's evolution while maintaining their signature emotional intensity.

"The Other Side" explores themes of resilience and hope in the face of adversity. Vocalist Matty Mullins describes the song as "a reminder that even in our lowest moments, we're not alone, and the light is closer than we think."

The upcoming album "Shapeshifter", set for release on March 28, 2025, via Rise Records, marks the band's latest chapter in their musical journey. The album's tracklist includes ten songs, with "The Other Side" joining previously released singles such as "Hell Is Empty" and "Overdose". Notably, "Overdose" features a guest appearance by Christian Lindskog from the Swedish band Blindside.

Memphis May Fire's musical style has evolved since their formation, blending elements of metalcore, post-hardcore, and southern rock. The band, currently consisting of Matty Mullins (vocals), Kellen McGregor (guitar), Cory Elder (bass), and Jake Garland (drums), has consistently pushed the boundaries of the metalcore genre.

Their discography includes critically acclaimed albums such as "Sleepwalking" (2009), "Challenger" (2012), and "Unconditional" (2014), each showcasing the band's growth in songwriting and musical complexity. The release of "Shapeshifter" continues this trajectory, with Mullins stating that the album "is about exposing those parts of ourselves we often keep hidden".

To support the new album, Memphis May Fire has announced a U.S. headline tour starting in April 2025, featuring support acts Caskets, Wind Walkers, and Elijah. This tour will provide fans with the opportunity to experience the new material live, alongside the band's established catalog.

As Memphis May Fire prepares to release "Shapeshifter", they continue to solidify their position as a prominent force in the metalcore scene, blending heavy instrumentation with melodic elements and introspective lyrics.
