Pothamus Unveils Atmospheric New Track "Savartuum Avur"
Belgian doom/post-rock/metal/shoegaze band Pothamus released their new single "Svartuum Avur" on November 12, 2024. The track is the first single from their upcoming album "Abur," set to be released on February 14, 2025, via Pelagic Records.
"Svartuum Avur" showcases Pothamus's evolution towards a more atmospheric and immersive sound. The track was produced and mixed by Chiaran Verheyden, recorded at MotorMusic Studio in Mechelen and GAM Studios in Malmedy, Belgium1.
"Abur" is described as a 44-minute pilgrimage through nature, animism, and the depths of the human soul. It represents Pothamus's exploration of existential themes, balancing "cosmic creation and absolute destruction"1.
