Shadows Fall Unveils New Track "In The Grey," Marking Triumphant Return After 12-Year Hiatus

On December 6, 2024, metalcore veterans Shadows Fall released their first new single in over a decade, "In The Grey," signaling a powerful comeback for the band. This release coincides with the announcement of their new partnership with MNRK Music Group.

"In The Grey" showcases Shadows Fall's signature blend of thrash metal and hardcore, featuring aggressive riffs, pounding drums, and Brian Fair's distinctive vocal style. The track was produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris, known for his work with Hatebreed and Rob Zombie.

Vocalist Brian Fair describes the song as "a full-throttle thrasher that contains all of the elements that are the bedrock of the Shadows Fall sound, but also adds new elements and approaches". Lyrically, the song explores themes of depression, with Fair explaining, "I was trying to put into words and describe the physical manifestation of the weight and crushing power that can come with depression".

The release of "In The Grey" follows Shadows Fall's reunion in 2021 after a hiatus that began in 2015. The band, consisting of Fair, guitarists Jonathan Donais and Matt Bachand, bassist Paul Rom, and drummer Jason Bittner, had been working on new material since their reunion shows.

Shadows Fall is set to perform on December 21st at The Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album "The War Within". This show, along with the new single, marks a significant moment in the band's resurgence and hints at more new music to come.
