Silverstein Unveils Track "Stress" From New Album "Antibloom"

Silverstein, the Canadian post-hardcore band, has released a new track titled "Stress" from their latest album "Antibloom," which dropped on February 21, 2025. This release marks the first part of an ambitious double album project, with the second part, "Pink Moon," set to follow later in the year.

"Stress" stands out as one of the most dynamic tracks on "Antibloom," showcasing Silverstein's ability to blend hardcore intensity with melodic elements. The song has been described as having a manic sound, drawing comparisons to both hardcore acts like Quicksand and Snapcase, as well as alternative metal pioneers Deftones.

"Antibloom" consists of eight tracks and runs for approximately 25 minutes, offering a concise yet impactful listening experience. The album was produced by Sam Guaiana, known for his work with bands like Neck Deep and Bayside, and was recorded at Fireside Sound in Joshua Tree, California.

Silverstein's lineup for this release includes Shane Told on lead vocals, Paul Marc Rousseau and Josh Bradford on guitars, Billy Hamilton on bass, and Paul Koehler on drums. This configuration has been stable since 2012, when Rousseau replaced original lead guitarist Neil Boshart.

The band's musical style has evolved over their 25-year career, consistently blending elements of post-hardcore, emo, and indie rock. Their influences range from punk rock acts like Green Day and NOFX to emo pioneers like Sunny Day Real Estate and The Get Up Kids.

"Antibloom" is Silverstein's twelfth studio album, following their 2022 release "Misery Made Me". The band has maintained a prolific output throughout their career, with their discography including notable albums such as "Discovering the Waterfront" (2005) and "A Beautiful Place to Drown" (2020), the latter of which earned a Juno Award nomination for Rock Album of the Year.

To celebrate their 25th anniversary, Silverstein is embarking on an extensive tour titled "25 Years of Noise," which includes dates across North America and Europe. The tour features a unique concept where fans can vote on setlists, allowing them to hear their favorite tracks from across the band's extensive catalog.

Silverstein's enduring success and continued musical evolution demonstrate their significant impact on the post-hardcore scene. With "Antibloom" and the forthcoming "Pink Moon," the band aims to solidify their legacy while pushing their sound in new directions.
