Synestia Releases New Track "Dies Irae" Independently

Synestia, the symphonic deathcore duo, has unveiled their latest single "Dies Irae" through an independent release on February 6th, 2025. This new track showcases the band's continued evolution in the metal genre.

"Dies Irae" is a collaborative effort, with Sam Melchior composing the music and Ryan Vail contributing lyrics and vocals. The production, mixing, and mastering were expertly handled by Blake Mullens, ensuring a polished final product. This release marks a notable departure from Synestia's usual lineup, with Ryan Vail stepping in for vocal duties typically performed by Ville Hokkanen.

Since their formation in fall 2020, Synestia has been making waves in the metal scene. The duo, consisting of Sam Melchior from Minnesota and Ville Hokkanen from Finland, has consistently pushed the boundaries of symphonic deathcore. Their journey includes the release of their debut album "Maleficium" in 2022, followed by the EP "The Poetic Edda" in 2024, which featured notable collaborations within the metal community.

"Dies Irae," which translates to "Day of Wrath" and references a traditional Latin hymn, adds another chapter to Synestia's growing discography. While the specific thematic elements and musical style of the track remain to be discovered by listeners, it's expected to align with the band's established approach of blending symphonic elements with intense deathcore sound.
