The Halo Effect Releases "What We Become" Music Video from New Album "March Of The Unheard"
The Halo Effect released their new single "What We Become" on January 10, 2025, alongside their sophomore album "March of the Unheard". The track showcases the band's signature melodic death metal sound with a modern twist.
"What We Become" explores themes of emotional transformation and inner struggle. As frontman Mikael Stanne explains, "This song is all about how our emotions can break us down and transform our very being through depression, self-doubt and insecurity". The lyrics delve into facing adversity and resisting being changed into something you're not.
The accompanying music video, directed by Johan Carlén, was shot in a cold, isolated barn to capture a sense of desolation. Stanne notes it gives the song "the right kind of mystique and sense of being forgotten or silenced". The video combines performance shots with atmospheric imagery to match the song's intensity.
