The Raven Age Drops New Single "The Guillotine"
The Raven Age has released their latest single "The Guillotine" on November 29, 2024. The track, written and recorded in a matter of days, showcases the band's ability to work under pressure, with guitarist George Harris describing the process as a "trial by fire."
"The Guillotine" explores the mental burden of modern social expectations and struggles, particularly the pressure to be perfect and accepted in a highly connected world. Lead singer Matt James states that the song features "all the best bits of The Raven Age, catchy riffs and big ass choruses," highlighting the band's signature style.
The release of "The Guillotine" coincides with the announcement of The Raven Age's upcoming "Forsaken" tour. The 22-date European headline tour will kick off on March 6, 2025, in Tilburg, Netherlands, and cover various cities across Europe. The tour includes stops in Hamburg, Copenhagen, Stockholm, and several cities in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Spain, and the UK. Notable venues on the tour include Hall Of Fame in Tilburg, Head Crash in Hamburg, and Beta in Copenhagen. The band will also make appearances at festivals such as Trondheim Rocks Festival, Graspop Metal Meeting, and Hammerdown Festival.
French metal band Disconnected will support The Raven Age throughout the European leg of the tour.
The Raven Age, formed in London in 2009 by guitarists George Harris and Dan Wright, has previously supported major acts like Iron Maiden, Anthrax, and Killswitch Engage, and has performed at festivals including Download Festival, Rock in Rio, and Wacken.
