The Unguided Unveils New Track "The Clock" From Upcoming Album "Hellven"
The Unguided, a Swedish melodic metal band formed in 2010 by former Sonic Syndicate members Richard Sjunnesson, Roger Sjunnesson, and Roland Johansson, has recently unveiled their latest single "The Clock" from their upcoming sixth studio album "Hellven". Set for release on March 7, 2025, "The Clock" showcases the band's signature blend of heavy riffs and melodic elements, further cementing their position in the melodic metal scene.
The track's lyrics delve into themes of time's relentless march and the human struggle against its inevitability, with lines like "We are burning the midnight oil too fast / We're out of time / Shipwrecked at Point Nemo as outcasts / Caught in the clock's careless march".
"The Clock" is the fourth single from "Hellven," following the release of "Hell" and "Red Alert" in late 2024. The album, produced by Jacob Hansen, promises to be The Unguided's most ambitious work to date, exploring themes of inner conflict, existential struggles, and epic fantasy across its 11 tracks.
The Unguided's musical journey began with their debut album "Hell Frost" in 2011, which quickly gained attention for its mix of catchy melodies, growling vocals, and intricate guitar work. Over the years, the band has evolved its sound while maintaining its core elements of melodic death metal and metalcore influences. This evolution is evident in their subsequent releases, including "Fragile Immortality" (2014), "Lust and Loathing" (2016), "And the Battle Royale" (2017), and "Father Shadow" (2020).
The band's current lineup consists of Richard Sjunnesson (harsh vocals), Roger Sjunnesson (guitars, keyboards), Jonathan Thorpenberg (clean vocals, guitars), Richard Schill (drums), and Fredrik Holmlund (bass). Thorpenberg joined the band in 2016, replacing original member Roland Johansson, and has since become an integral part of The Unguided's sound.
