Thy Catafalque releases Twelfth Album "XII: A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek"
Thy Catafalque, the avant-garde metal project led by Tamás Kátai, is set to release their twelfth album, "XII: A gyönyörű álmok ezután jönnek," on November 15, 2024. The album, which translates to "The Beautiful Dreams Are Yet to Come," includes the track "Vasgyár."
For this latest offering, Kátai collaborated with outside producer Gábor Vári, who previously worked on Thy Catafalque's live album "Mezolit." Vári's involvement aims to bring a more modern sound to the album while maintaining the band's distinctive style.
While specific details about "Vasgyár" are not available, the album as a whole is described as an introspective journey. It blends elements of nostalgia, sadness, hope, and beauty, all underpinned by a strong metal foundation. This thematic approach aligns with Thy Catafalque's reputation for pushing the boundaries of extreme metal and incorporating avant-garde elements.
Over the past two decades, Thy Catafalque has evolved from a studio project to a collaborative effort involving prominent musicians from Hungary and beyond. The band's innovative approach to progressive metal has earned them recognition, including two consecutive Fonogram awards, establishing them as leading figures in Hungary's progressive metal scene.
