Vicious Rain Reimagines "The Devil & Lovers" Featuring Amariah Cook of Future Static
Vicious Rain, the Swiss metalcore band formed in late 2022, has released a remixed version of their single "The Devil & Lovers" featuring Amariah Cook from Future Static on February 6, 2025. This release comes after the band's debut album "There Is Beauty In Letting Go," which was launched via Arising Empire on October 11, 2024.
The original version of "The Devil & Lovers" was the band's first single, released in March 2023. The song explores the bittersweet story of two people sharing a deep connection but kept apart by circumstances. The remixed version featuring Amariah Cook adds a new dimension to the track, blending Vicious Rain's signature sound with Cook's distinctive vocals.
Vicious Rain consists of vocalist David Häusermann, guitarist and vocalist Mauro Gugerli, guitarist Tristan Meier, bassist Loris De Notaristefano, and drummer Michael Teufelberger. The band hails from Baden, Switzerland, and brings several years of professional recording and live show experience to their music.
Their sound is characterized by a combination of intertwined singing and screaming vocals, melodic leads, and crushing breakdowns. The band draws inspiration from iconic metalcore and post-hardcore acts like Underoath and Parkway Drive, which is evident in their use of powerful breakdowns and lyrical vulnerability.
In addition to "The Devil & Lovers," Vicious Rain has released several other singles from their debut album, including "Play Pretend," "Crown of Thorns," and "Blackout". The album, "There Is Beauty In Letting Go," explores themes of loss, acceptance, and growth, blending heavier breakdowns with haunting melodies and atmospheric elements.
Vicious Rain's journey in the music industry has been marked by significant milestones. They signed with German label Arising Empire in 2023, a move that showcased their rising presence in the scene. The band also had the opportunity to perform at the Summer Breeze festival in 2023, where their vocalist David even joined While She Sleeps on stage for a performance.
