Windwaker Unveils New Single "Apathy" from Upcoming "HYPERVIOLENCE: Expansion Pack"
Australian metalcore outfit Windwaker has released their latest single "Apathy" on December 12, 2024, as part of their upcoming "HYPERVIOLENCE: Expansion Pack". This release follows the success of their sophomore album "HYPERVIOLENCE" earlier this year.
"Apathy" showcases Windwaker's evolution, blending catchy melodies with hard-hitting riffs. The band describes the track as "a reflection of the growing fatigue in today's society — a catchy upbeat anthem wrapped in a dark biting tone". They further explain, "It tackles the overwhelming noise of politics and the relentless chatter both online and offline that leaves so many feeling disillusioned and detached".
The "HYPERVIOLENCE: Expansion Pack" will feature three new tracks, including "Apathy" and "31:10", along with a new version of their previous single "SIRENS". This deluxe edition builds upon the success of "HYPERVIOLENCE", which saw the band gain significant traction in the metalcore scene.
Windwaker's recent achievements include supporting Northlane on their first North American tour and performing at KNOTFEST. Guitarist Liam Guinane reflected on their Sydney KNOTFEST performance as a career highlight, stating, "It was the perfect balance of feeling locked in as a band performing while feeling a bit carefree, and having lots of fun".
